A good plan should survive a change of appetite. If Thursday lunch no longer appeals, change that entry and keep the rest of the week understandable instead of abandoning the menu.
Decide what stays
Lock meals with ingredients you already bought or preparation you completed. Regenerating keeps compatible locked entries and searches other slots. If you change dietary restrictions, check the result again: a recipe conflicting with new filters cannot remain simply because it was previously locked. Saving a project first gives you a recoverable original menu. Local saves are convenient, while a downloaded JSON file is easier to keep outside browser storage.
Compare the day
A replacement lunch can have a different calorie and protein profile. Read daily totals after each swap, then decide whether its portion needs changing. Portion controls multiply the whole recipe, including grains, sauces, and fats. If the resulting amount seems unrealistic, choose another meal rather than forcing a numerical match with an oversized serving. The generator does not guarantee exact agreement with both targets.
Refresh the shopping version
The grocery list follows the current menu automatically. Review it after the last change, especially if you already marked pantry ingredients or entered prices. A checked ingredient still has a planned quantity; checking organizes shopping rather than proving you own enough. Download a new list when settled and keep it with the matching project file so future edits are easy to trace.
Save the week, swap one unlocked meal, and check daily totals and grocery changes together.

Our guides offer general planning advice. Nutrition is estimated from ingredient weights and selected USDA reference foods, not laboratory analysis of a finished recipe. Cooking, brands, and serving sizes change values. You choose your targets; example targets are not individualized dietary advice. Ingredient filters are planning aids, not an allergy safety certification. Check packaging and cross-contact. We do not claim hands-on tests of products mentioned in buying guides.
