The planner opens with 120g of protein as an example input. That number is not an assessment of your needs. If you have an established target, enter that instead; a qualified dietitian can help with individualized needs.
Spread the planning work
Think about four eating occasions rather than one very large dinner. Dividing 120g by four gives 30g per occasion mathematically, but meals do not have to contribute equally. Your preferred breakfast may be smaller, and lunch may do more of the work. Check each meal estimate and the daily sum before changing quantities. You are designing a menu, not completing a test with one correct distribution.
Understand the figures
The tool calculates nutrients from ingredient grams and selected USDA reference foods. Cooked and raw records describe different moisture levels. A branded yogurt can differ from the reference yogurt in the catalog. These values help compare versions of a plan; they cannot guarantee the exact composition of a finished plate. Use package information when precision for a specific product matters.
Adjust the whole meal
Increasing every ingredient raises calories and other nutrients as well as protein. Try swapping a recipe before making a serving uncomfortably large. Review calorie and protein gaps together, then judge whether portions are realistic. A day can be close on one number and far from another. Save a useful version and make deliberate changes instead of repeatedly regenerating until a rounded number looks exact.
Replace the example target with your own, then compare portions and both daily totals.

Our guides offer general planning advice. Nutrition is estimated from ingredient weights and selected USDA reference foods, not laboratory analysis of a finished recipe. Cooking, brands, and serving sizes change values. You choose your targets; example targets are not individualized dietary advice. Ingredient filters are planning aids, not an allergy safety certification. Check packaging and cross-contact. We do not claim hands-on tests of products mentioned in buying guides.
